In 2008 the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, gifted all of us his 9 page whitepaper

Satoshi followed that up by launching the protocol and mining the first Bitcoin block in 2009. Satoshi remained an active member of the Bitcoin community until 2011, when Satoshi "vanished," leaving the project and one million Bitcoins behind. Satoshi's true identity and whereabouts remain unknown to this day.
The million dollar question of course is Why?
We encourage you to take that journey down the rabbit hole and promise you won't regret it but, we can't begin to explore it all here. What we can do is point to some thought provoking facts.
- No one knows who (Satoshi) the creator of Bitcoin is.
- Satoshi left behind about a million bitcoin worth roughly a million dollars in 2011.
- Satoshi hasn't moved them since and they are currently worth over 100 billion dollars.
- This means Satoshi went from posting a 9 page white paper, launching the protocol and mining a million coins in the first 2 years, to walking away from it all a millionaire. Except, Satoshi never cashed in on the Bitcoin. Instead, Satoshi sat by silently and watched as the wealth increased to 10 million 6 months later, 100 million 2 years later (2013), 1 billion 3 years later (2014), 10 billion 6 years later (2017) and finally 100 billion 15 years later (2024). Many believe Satoshi becomes the first Trillionaire in 2031. Some might find it more fitting if it happens in 2032, exactly 21 years after Satoshi launched the most sound asset in history.
- Someone hid the Bitcoin white paper in the macOS operating system in 2018 until it was discovered by accident in 2023. 100 million mac computers dispersed around the world are embedded with Satoshi's white paper.
- No other Crypto currency can compete with Bitcoin currently and is unlikely to moving forward.
- Litecoin, probably Bitcoin's closest competitor, was launched about 9 months after Bitcoin by Charlie Lee (a known person) and is currently worth about 7 billion in 2025. 7 billion vs 2 trillion, not in the same galaxy.
- The best minds have concluded between 2 to 3 million bitcoin are already gone forever due to lost private keys, forgotten wallets, or deceased owners. This number is expected to rise. If it hits 4 million and Satoshi never claims the 1 million he left behind, there are really only 16 million at play with just over a million left to mine.
- The last Bitcoin will be mined in about 2140, yes about 115 years from now. Research how for yourself but, its basically due to the amount of Bitcoin awarded per block cutting in half every 4 years.
- Bitcoin was programmed to issue a block every 10 minutes 24/7 until 2140. Nothing has stopped it in 16 years straight.
